Restock & Disposition Worksheet
Record the inspected condition of every returned unit, get a consistent restock / refurbish / liquidate / scrap recommendation plus any restocking fee, and route it through a supervisor before stock is adjusted - so returned inventory stops piling up.
Returned units are graded against your own condition rules, get a consistent disposition and restocking-fee recommendation, and a supervisor approves before any inventory adjustment or fee is exported - with a full audit trail.
Before you start
- A free Supabase account
- A free Vercel account
- A free Resend account (for approval and summary emails)
- A CSV or Google Sheet of received returns with condition notes, original value, and SKU
The problem this kills
Returned units land in a corner of the warehouse and sit there. One person calls a scratched unit "restock," another calls it "scrap," and finance has no idea what restocking fee should have been charged. By the time anyone reconciles, the pile is huge, the good stock is mixed with the junk, and money has quietly leaked out the door.
The decisions are not actually hard - they just need to be made the same way every time and signed off by someone before stock and fees move. That is exactly what this tool does.
What you'll build
A small internal web app where your returns or warehouse team:
- Loads received returns from a CSV or Google Sheet (SKU, original value, condition notes).
- Records the inspected condition of each unit against the condition grades you define.
- Gets an automatic recommendation - restock, refurbish, liquidate, or scrap - plus any restocking fee, based on rules tied to those grades and your policy.
- Sends the batch to a supervisor, who reviews and approves (or overrides) before anything is committed.
- Exports clean disposition and inventory-adjustment rows for your ERP - with a complete audit trail of who decided what, and when.
What's inside the Implementation Plan
- A copy-paste runbook you drop into Claude Code that builds the whole thing step by step - no coding experience needed.
- It opens by interviewing you about your business - your condition grades, your restocking-fee policy, your SKU and RMA naming, your real return volumes, and your messy edge cases - so the tool is tailored to how you actually work, not a generic template.
- A data model, validations, and disposition rules shaped by your answers.
- Ready-to-paste prompts for every build step.
- A "No API yet?" fallback so you can run the whole thing today from a spreadsheet and export a clean CSV for your ERP - no integration required.
The governance it includes (this is the point)
- Login so only your team can use it.
- Row-level security so each organization only ever sees its own returns.
- A hard human-in-the-loop approval gate - the tool recommends, a supervisor reviews and approves, and only then are disposition and fees committed and exported.
- A complete audit trail - every grade, recommendation, override, and approval is stamped with who and when.
- Duplicate guards keyed on the RMA / unit ID so the same return can't be processed twice.
Who it's for
Returns and warehouse operations teams who inspect and route returned stock, and the finance people who have to reconcile it. If you are the one staring at a pile of returns wondering what is sellable and what fee should have been charged, this is for you.
You've got this - paste the first prompt and let the agent interview you.
