Boilerplate & Snippet Manager

Build a searchable, versioned library of approved reusable copy - boilerplate, product descriptions, legal disclaimers, exec bios, social blurbs - so your team stops pasting outdated text.

What you'll build

A private web tool where your team searches and copies only owner-approved, current copy - with version history, stale-content flags, and a clean CSV export.

Before you start

  • A free Supabase account
  • A free Vercel account
  • A free Resend account
  • Your existing snippets in a spreadsheet or CSV (or we'll start fresh)

The problem this kills

Somewhere in your company there is a "final_v3_REALLY_final" version of the boilerplate paragraph. And a different one in last year's press release. And a third in the sales deck. When a writer, a salesperson, or an exec needs your approved company description, product blurb, legal disclaimer, or bio, they hunt through email, old docs, and Slack - and too often they grab the wrong, outdated one. Off-brand and legally risky copy ends up in press releases, websites, and decks, and nobody can tell which version was even correct.

The root problem is that there is no single, trusted, current source for approved copy. Boilerplate lives everywhere and nowhere.

What you'll build

A private, login-protected web app that is the one place your team goes for approved copy. People can search by keyword, category, or language and copy the current, owner-blessed version with one click. Behind that simple search box sits real governance: every snippet is versioned, a brand or content owner has to approve each new version before it goes "current," old versions are archived for reference, and each snippet tracks when it was last reviewed so stale copy gets flagged automatically.

You'll import your existing snippets from a CSV to start, and you can export the whole library back to a clean CSV anytime.

What's inside the Implementation Plan

The plan is a complete, paste-and-go runbook for Claude Code. You don't write code - you paste prompts and answer questions.

It opens by interviewing you about your business - your real categories, your languages, how you name snippets, who is allowed to approve copy, and your messy edge cases - so the tool is tailored to how your team actually works instead of a generic template. The agent reads a short spec back to you, you give a thumbs-up, and only then does it build.

From there it walks you step by step: set up the database, build the login, import your CSV, build the search-and-copy screen, build the owner approval queue, add version history and stale-content flags, wire up email notifications, and ship it live - each step ending in a ready-to-paste prompt.

The governance it includes (this is the point)

  • Login so only your team can open the tool.
  • Row-level security so each organization only ever sees its own snippets.
  • A human approval gate - the owner reviews and approves each snippet (and every edit) before it becomes the "current" version. Nothing goes live on its own.
  • A full audit trail - who created, edited, approved, or archived each snippet, and when.
  • Version history - old versions are archived, never destroyed, so you can always see what changed.
  • Duplicate guards - the same snippet key + language + version can't be imported or saved twice.
  • Stale-content flags - a per-snippet "last reviewed" date surfaces copy that needs a fresh look.

Who it's for

Brand, communications, and marketing operations people who maintain standard copy used across press, web, and decks - and who are tired of policing which version everyone is using. No coding experience needed.

You've got this - paste the first prompt and let the agent interview you.
