Plant KPI Dashboard

Pull OEE, schedule attainment, scrap/yield, on-time delivery, and safety into trend tiles by line and area, with an owner approval gate so leadership sees trusted numbers at a glance instead of waiting for a monthly deck.

What you'll build

A live plant KPI dashboard where you import each period's metric data, the tool computes KPIs vs target with trend arrows, the responsible owner approves the period, and only then does it publish to leadership and send a weekly summary email.

Before you start

  • A Vercel account (free tier is fine)
  • A Supabase account (free tier is fine)
  • A Resend account for the weekly summary email
  • Your current KPI data as a CSV or Google Sheet, plus the target for each KPI

The problem this kills

Right now plant health lives in a monthly deck that someone rebuilds by hand from a tangle of spreadsheets, line logs, and emails. By the time leadership sees OEE, scrap, and on-time delivery, the month is already over and the numbers are stale. Supervisors argue about whose figures are right. Nobody trusts a tile until they've re-checked the source. And the one person who knows the formulas is the bottleneck for every review.

The result: decisions get made late, on numbers that are already history, with no clear record of who validated what.

What you'll build

A web dashboard, owned by your team, that turns raw metric data into a clean plant scorecard. You import each period's numbers (and your targets), the tool computes each KPI, compares it to target, shows the trend versus prior periods, and color-codes every tile. Before any of it reaches leadership, the responsible owner reviews the period's data and approves it. Only approved periods get published - so the dashboard everyone looks at is always trusted, signed-off numbers. Each week it emails a short summary.

What's inside the Implementation Plan

The plan is a step-by-step runbook you paste into an AI coding agent (Claude Code). It opens by interviewing you about your plant - your KPI list, your formulas, your targets, your lines and areas, your periods, and your messy edge cases - so the tool is tailored to how you actually run, not a generic template. Then it walks the agent through building the data model, the import, the KPI math, the approval gate, the dashboard tiles, and the weekly email - each step ending in a ready-to-paste prompt.

It includes a no-API fallback from the start: metric CSVs in, a clean KPI-history CSV out, so you can build and use the whole thing today even with zero integration to your MES or ERP.

The governance it includes (this is the point)

  • Login so only your team can open the dashboard.
  • Row-level security so each plant or org only ever sees its own data.
  • A full audit trail - who imported, who approved, and exactly when.
  • A human approval gate - the tool computes and drafts the period, a named owner reviews and approves, and only then is it published. Leadership never sees unvalidated numbers.
  • Duplicate guards - the same KPI for the same period can't be loaded or published twice, and approved history stays immutable.

Who it's for

Plant managers, operations directors, and shift supervisors who are tired of waiting on the monthly deck and want one trusted, always-current view of plant health - without hiring a developer.

You've got this - paste the first prompt and let the agent interview you.
