Daily Dispatch List

Turn a pile of open work orders into a clean, prioritized run list for each work center every morning - with material-ready and late flags - so operators stop guessing and supervisors stop firefighting.

What you'll build

Each morning you import open work orders, the tool sorts them by your chosen priority rule per work center, flags which jobs have materials and which are late, the supervisor approves and locks the list, and the tool publishes a per-work-center dispatch list and emails the leads.

Before you start

  • A free Supabase account
  • A free Resend account
  • A CSV or Google Sheet export of your open work orders by work center

The problem this kills

Every morning the same scramble: a supervisor squints at a stack of printed work orders, a whiteboard, and three spreadsheets, then tries to decide what each line should run first. Operators guess. Hot jobs get missed because nobody noticed the due date. Jobs get started without the material on hand, then stall halfway through. By 10 a.m. you're firefighting instead of running the plan.

The real problem isn't the work - it's that nobody has a single, trusted, ordered list of what to run today, per work center, with the obvious traps (late, no material) flagged before anyone touches a machine.

What you'll build

A small internal web app your shop actually uses each morning:

  • Import open work orders by work center from a CSV or Google Sheet (priority, due date, quantity, material-ready flag).
  • Auto-prioritize each work center's list using the rule you choose - earliest due date, customer tier, or ship date.
  • Flag the traps: late jobs stand out, and jobs without materials are grayed out so nobody starts a job that'll stall.
  • Supervisor approval gate: the supervisor reviews the proposed list, fixes the order if needed, then approves and locks it for the shift.
  • Publish: a clean per-work-center dispatch list you can print or show on a floor screen, plus an email to each work center's lead via Resend.

What's inside the Implementation Plan

The plan is a single file you paste into an AI coding agent (Claude Code), and it builds the tool with you step by step - no prior coding needed.

It opens by interviewing you about your shop - your work centers, how your work orders are named and numbered, your typical and peak job counts, exactly how you decide what runs first, and your messy edge cases (split jobs, rush insertions, partial material). It reflects a short tailored spec back to you and waits for your thumbs-up before building anything. The result is a tool shaped around how your floor actually works, not a generic template.

From there it walks you through the data model, the import, the priority engine, the approval gate, and publishing - each step ends with a ready-to-paste prompt.

The governance it includes (this is the point)

  • Login so only your team can open the tool.
  • Row-level security so each site or team only sees its own work orders.
  • A full audit trail: who imported, who changed the order, who approved, and when.
  • A hard human-in-the-loop gate: the AI proposes the ordered list, but nothing is published to the floor until the supervisor reviews and approves it.
  • Duplicate guards: the same work order can't be dispatched twice for the same work center on the same day.

Who it's for

Shop supervisors, line leaders, and operators in a manufacturing or production environment who plan and run jobs by work center - especially if today's dispatch lives in someone's head, a whiteboard, and a spreadsheet.

You've got this - paste the first prompt and let the agent interview you about your shop.
